“I like them brown, yellow, Puerto Rican, or Persian.”
Persian?? That’s a new one! I would say I’m flattered, but honestly, it’s kind of random. I guess Persian KIND OF rhymes with Puerto Rican.
Honestly, it’s interesting to see how this lyric has morphed over time—from A Tribe Called Quest’s “Electric Relaxation” to Da Brat’s “What Chu Like” to, I’m sure, a whole lot more. Always interesting to consider why certain lyrics stick and others don’t.
